How to Feel at Home Wherever You Are
You chose this life. So why does it sometimes feel so hard?
Perhaps you have just arrived and everyday tasks take more energy than you expected. Or you have lived abroad for years, know how things work and still feel that something important is missing.
You can enjoy your life here and miss your old one. You can have people around you and still feel lonely. And you can keep waiting for better language skills, closer friendships or more certainty before doing the things you want to do.
I created this free workbook to help you understand these experiences and begin creating a life that feels more like yours now.
What you will find inside
The workbook combines short explanations with practical exercises to help you:
- Recognise what you miss and the needs behind it.
- Identify your internal and external anchors.
- Explore thoughts that can make difficult moments harder.
- Notice what you have been postponing and find a manageable way to begin.
You can choose the exercises that speak to you and work through them at your own pace.
Why I created it
I am Jekaterina Hvala, a psychological counsellor originally from Estonia, living in Slovenia. Having moved countries four times, I know the loneliness of sitting among people and barely understanding the conversation, and the effort of rebuilding familiar parts of everyday life.
This workbook draws on both my personal experience and my counselling work. I hope it helps you feel more understood and find something useful to bring into your life.
